This is a Korean chili pepper paste. It has a bit of a smokey flavor with a smooth and thick consistency. The spiciness is not as sharp as Sriracha, and builds up as you keep eating it. Gochujang is a staple for the marinade used with spicy Korean chicken - Dakgalbi.
